This is Newport in Shropshire, the TF10 market town about 7 miles north-east of Telford, near the Staffordshire border. It isn’t Newport in South Wales, so you won’t be put through to a firm in Gwent.
My name’s Lee and LMS Heating Solutions is my business. It’s just me, Gas Safe registered and based in Telford, so the person who quotes your job is the person who does it.
A High Street that goes back centuries
The Normans laid Newport out as a planned town. In the town you can still see plenty of half-timbered buildings from the late medieval and Tudor years, with Georgian and Regency fronts in between.
Older buildings can be awkward for heating work: thick walls, little room for a flue, and pipework that’s been changed over the years. I’d rather spend time on the survey than make a guess, and I’ll talk you through where the boiler, flue and pipes can go before you commit.
Villages I cover from Newport
Edgmond to the west, Church Aston, Chetwynd Aston and Longford to the south, plus Chetwynd and Lilleshall (all TF10).
What I can do for you in Newport
- New boiler installation: Baxi, Worcester Bosch, Vaillant or Ideal, chosen to suit your home. I register every boiler for its manufacturer’s warranty.
- Boiler servicing: a yearly check of a domestic natural gas boiler, whoever fitted it.
- Boiler repairs: I find the fault, explain it in plain English and give you a fixed price before I start.
- Power flushing: for systems with sludge, cold spots or noisy radiators, and only when the signs point to it.
- Landlord gas safety checks (CP12): see below.
Landlord gas safety certificates in Newport
If you rent out a home, the law says the gas appliances and flues you provide for your tenants must be safety checked at least every 12 months by a Gas Safe registered engineer. I carry out landlord gas safety checks on domestic natural gas appliances in rented homes in Telford and Shropshire, and give you the Landlord Gas Safety Record (often called a CP12).
A landlord gas safety check and certificate costs £80 for one gas appliance, and £10 for each extra appliance. Tell me the postcode and which gas appliances are in the property, and I’ll book the check in.
Who you’re letting into your Newport home
- Gas Safe registered (no. 974132) for domestic natural gas work. You can check me on the Gas Safe Register.
- I hold £5 million public liability insurance.
- You get Lee: the same engineer for the call, the quote and the work.
- Family-run: I’m on the tools, my wife keeps the paperwork in order.
- It’s always a fixed price. If there are ever any changes due to unforeseen circumstances, I’ll discuss them with you before any work takes place.

Newport boiler questions
My boiler keeps showing a fault code and resetting. Should I keep resetting it?
A reset now and again is fine. If it keeps happening, something is wrong, so take a photo of the code and WhatsApp it to me. It often tells me which part to bring.
Do you fit system boilers as well as combis?
Yes. If you have a cylinder and want to keep it, a system or regular boiler may suit you better than a combi. I’ll explain why either way.
How far in advance should a landlord book the yearly gas check?
The check has to be done at least every 12 months, so book it a few weeks before the last record runs out. Then you’re not up against the deadline.
